(2007)
The Pax Cecilia got some decent attention on the internet with this release. The reason being, they actually mailed physical copies of this album to people, free of charge. It's a full digi-pak, with a booklet and a mini-poster. How can you resist? On their first album, they were more of a screamo band, working in elements of post-rock and classical, with a piano and plenty of strings. On this album, they've progressed even further. The result is a highly dynamic album, with every song connected into one. The songs are very long form, going from long quiet sections (even ambient bits), to post rock tinged with classical, to orchestral screamo (sound awesome? it is). This is a concept album about progress, and struggle, and it feels like it for sure. This band is an inspiration, because they've released an utterly brilliant album, and they're making no effort to get famous with it.
