Matt & Kim - Grand

Hipsters unite! Matt and Kim, the new york duo made a album this year and it hit mainstream success with the song Daylight, and with the video hit Lessons Learned. I'm not going to front, I think the Lessons Learned video is awesome! (Which I will post on a comment after give you my two cents on the album). In saying that, their music isn't necessarily amazing. Most of their songs are filled with synth riffs, simple drum beats, vocal harmonies and clapping (typical hipster music). Matt tries to have that innocent indie feel in his voice but instead he comes off cheesy. Kim's Drumming is catchy and extremely simple. However, despite the cheesy vocals and repetitive drumming this group made a pretty solid solid album for two members. It has a feel good flow and can cheer you up when you are feeling low.

Ratatat - Ratatat

(2004)

Ratatat is the electronic duo consisting of producer E*vax and guitarist Mike Stroud. Ratatat is famous for its 8-bit synths, Harmonized Guitar, and Tin can Beats. Ratatat has created a new breed of electronic music with its video game sound and 70s rock edge. Their debut album is simply a classic and you can't consider yourself a lover of indie music without it. The opening track Seventeen Years grabs a hold of your ears immediately with it multiple guitar tracks. The rest of the album however, is rather relaxed and down tempo with a few exceptions in Desert Eagle. Everyone and their mom should listen to Ratatat because it's some of the most original electronic music out there. (Trust me i've looked)
